December

  • December 3: International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This day celebrates the contributions of persons with disabilities and advocates for creating a further accessible, inclusive, and barrier-free country.

  • December 6: The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. We mourn the misogyny-based murder of 14 young women at Polytechnique Montreal and remind our country to recommit to fighting gender-based hatred and discrimination.

  • December 10: Human Rights Day. This day marks Canada’s dedication to protecting human rights here and internationally, recognizing the importance of fundamental rights. The government is working towards breaking down equity-based injustices and barriers.
