Information for students
Overview
If you're in a co-op or internship program within the Faculty of Business and Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Frazer Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science or Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, and in your second year or above, you're invited to participate in our annual Reverse Career Fair! This event is your opportunity to connect with employers in person, where you can network with professionals from industries related to your field of study and career interests. While you're welcome to set up a display to showcase their work, having one is not required to attend.
Benefits of attending
- You'll connect with recruiters and hiring managers from a variety of companies to start building your own professional network. If you'd like to see which organizations and employers will be there, view the 2026 Reverse Career Fair Guidebook.
- You'll have the opportunity to set up a display in the gym at your assigned table. Employers will be attending in person for the opportunity to network with you. You are encouraged to create business cards to hand out to employers.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must meet the co-op and internship eligibility requirements for their faculty and must attend a Reverse Career Fair preparation session in order to be eligible to participate in the event. Eligibility will be reviewed and confirmed upon registration.
Registration coming soon.
Frequently asked questions
-
How does the Reverse Career Fair work?
As a student participant, you’ll have the opportunity to display projects or samples of your work that highlight your skills and experiences.
Please note: Having a project is not required to attend. Employers will be circulating throughout the room, stopping by your booth to learn more about you and your background. They may ask questions about your work and—in some cases—discuss potential job opportunities within their organization. This event is a valuable chance to showcase your talents and engage in meaningful conversations with industry professionals.
-
Why should I attend?
The Reverse Career Fair provides you with a platform to network with industry professionals, gain valuable insights and build connections to support career growth. It offers a unique opportunity to showcase your projects and skills directly to employers. Most importantly, attending the Reverse Career Fair can considerably boost your chances of securing a co-op or internship opportunity.
-
Am I eligible to attend?
Co-op and internship students within the Faculty of Business and Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Frazer Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Social Science and Humanities are welcome to register for the event. Upon registration, eligibility will be determined by faculty. Please refer to the day of schedule to see when your allotted time slot is.
- How can I find out which employers will be attending?
-
What can I display?
You can display anything that showcases your skill set in your field. Whether it be a personal project, a business or a school assignment, displaying anything that markets your employability can go a long way. Additionally, you are encouraged to create business cards with a QR code to your LinkedIn Profile.
-
Can I still participate if I don’t have a project to display?
Yes, we encourage you to still attend if you're eligible!
This year, you’ll have the chance to use the SparkPath tool to discover the real-world challenges that inspire you. Instead of focusing only on job titles, SparkPath helps you explore the problems you want to solve, whether it’s advancing healthcare, tackling sustainability issues, or designing new technology. This approach encourages you to showcase your purpose, interests and skills in a way that stands out to employers.
At your booth, consider including a Challenge Statement (e.g The challenge I want to work on is…) or visuals that highlight how your experiences connect to the challenges you care about. Employers will be eager to see how your vision aligns with the work they’re doing.
If you are still unsure of what to display, you are advised to speak with your Co-op and Internship Officer to find creative ways to display your work. Find your contacts below:
